Last year when I found out that I was pregnant for the first time and due to delivery the same week of my birthday. Almost everyone told me that it would be a surprise if my baby would arrive on my birthday and some even said that if that would happen then it will never again be the day about me, but it would forever be for my child instead.
If you have read about my birth story blogpost then you all know that I ended up laboring throughout my 30th birthday and after 9 hours of grueling labour , pushed out a beautiful baby girl named Kiara, around 2:30 pm officially on my birthday. That was an year ago on October 13th 2017.
Do you wanna know how I really feel about sharing my birthday with my daughter?
I absolutely love it, a perfect surprise you can ever ask for on your birthday and I wouldn't have it any other way.
But must say, most of them were right. My birthday is not my own anymore, and the day isn't mine. It's hers, and it's ours. On our birthday, we went out to the temple with our family. We didn't do much on that day as it was way too windy and cold outside. Our actual plan was to celebrate the first birthday in Disney World Florida, but since I was almost 30 weeks pregnant, I can't travel anywhere more than 4 hours and flying was a big no. We went out for shopping at the Disney store and build a bear work shop where she loved to roam around picking some of her favorite stuffed toys.
Kiara did her first cake smash a day before her birthday and I will post those pictures and some of her birthday pictures in a separate blogpost with her 12 months update.
I never thought that becoming a parent would bring so many changes in me. Even to this day I never like to share my things with anyone except my younger sis, and now I am going to share such a big day with a part of my life forever.
But genuinely, I loved and enjoyed sharing my birthday with my daughter and being able to celebrate her life has become the greatest birthday gift I get to give myself every year.
